I know… it’s almost pumpkin time. And I love the new Carved Pumpkin Distress Color by Tim Holtz! It’s just so festive! I think it will be a good wake-you-up, cheery color that’s useful far beyond Halloween. Hey, and all of the Carved Pumpkin inks, paints and stains are both new and ALL On Sale! Plus, we’ve got inspirational artwork today by Design Team Member Kristin Batsel and Design Team Coordinator Miz Bella (Kim Ayers) that both feature lots of orange…
Starting with Kristin’s Retro Halloween Houses — and the fab Trick or Treat 12×12 Collection Kit!
This group of papers is just so fun! Bright and silly mid-century prints of kids in Halloween costumes abound.
Kristin fell in love with the papers, too, and used them exclusively to decorate her Retro Halloween Houses (made with Small Paper Mache Houses).
Next up is Miz Bella’s Trick or Treat Halloween Banner! (See the wide photo below.)
Who wouldn’t want this banner to decorate for Halloween? It’s like an instant party!
Bella used the same Trick or Treat 12×12 Collection Kit — both under and over the new Halloween Pennant Pad. That little pad of 24 polka dotted pennants (and black & white twine) makes easy work of creating a Halloween banner.

Hey, who won the Creepy Little Haunted Houses Giveaway? That would be Jennifer J!
And she replied to my question “What would you make with the new Mini Haunted House Chipboard Set? A tiny book? A banner? Wall hanging? Something else? BONUS: is Halloween a year-round event in your house?”:
I would love to make a little house wall hanging. The architectural details are wonderful as is the owl!
No carving. Trying different stuff on artificial pumpkins….melted crayon. Mirror paint….
I’m displaying the fabulous witch’s apothecary à la Laura Carson that I made a couple years ago!!! I love it!
Definitely carving –the squirrels in my yard are already lining up in anticipation of pumpkin bits!
I love the vintage look of Kim’s banner. We each like to carve a pumpkin. Then we take photos, one of which will have our head above our pumpkin, attempting to make the same face as the Jack O’Lantern.
YES! I just bought my pumpkin yesterday. As for decorating, I love Halloween and make all kinds of cloth dolls, so needless to say, I need a bigger house, but I have on display all my dolls – bats, spiders, fairies, witches and cats and more! This is a great giveaway!
Don’t carve pumpkins anymore but I love Halloween and my studio is always decorated for Halloween!
Yes we carve pumpkins real and artificial I saved all the ones from my girls year after year. I start decorating Sept 16th after my girls birthdays. I have a very large collection so I start early to enjoy it as long as I can. Inside and out!. My partner has been converting foam headstones to cement so we have our own cemetery in our yard. He likes Halloween as much as I do!
Instead of getting a pumpkin to carve, my hubby asks for pumpkin seeds from everyone who does the carving. He loves to bake them with seasonings . His favorite snack during Halloween.
Well, Orange is my favorite color, so this is definitely my favorite time of year. I just got out all the autumn and Halloween stuff. Made a tower of orange and white pumpkins for the front porch and a village of spooky houses for a side table.
I have already crafted many of your Halloween ideas, that is how I will decorate for this Orange Holiday
Love the beads!
My husband is an orange freak! I can do so much with this giveaway. I’m crazy too use this stuff.
We will carve pumpkins this year. My daughters enjoy decorating our house for Halloween! Last year I found a giant spider on my pillow 🙂
The kids are married and gone. We live in a neighborhood with no small trick or treaters. I will probably get a few decorations out. My son does indulge me and will go pumpkin hunting. He even allows me to take pics! But, we don’t usually carve them.
Won’t be carving pumpkins this year but I’ll be eating a lot of pumpkin pie. Just love the fibers with this giveaway.
I don’t carve my pumpkins as I use them for decorating for both Halloween (my favorite in which I go all out) and for Thanksgiving. I love todays giveaway-no much time till Halloween so hope to win this one as it may be the last! >^..^<
Hey Leslie,
I’m carving faux pumpkins this year🎃…it’s a lot neater!!😉 and my house is well decorated, I LOVE Halloween decorating as much as Christmas! This post is awesome…LOVE the new (retro-style!) papers!
I love the vintage Halloween papers! I do’t decorate big for Halloween but I think I will experiment with the mercury/mirror paint on pumpkins.
Trying something different.
I am making jack o lantern totem pole.
Already have the pumpkin waiting to be craved.
Thanks Alpha Stamps, for the chance to win this great giveaway.
I have a large pair of carved styrofoam pumpkins that I bought years ago. By cutting out a hole in the bottom I am able to slip each one over a carriage light on our front porch. They work great. I spend my creative time making paper Halloween ornaments for sisters, nieces and grandkids.
Love that paper. No more carving with these old hands.
We will be carving pumpkins with the grandchildren this year! I am hoping that we can get the three of them at the same time so they can play together too!
I would love to go orange because Orange is the new Black doncha know! LOL LOVE the banner pad and will definitely need to add that to my stash!!
I also love the Retro Houses! That paper is adorable!! I know my granddaughter would love to play with some of it!! TFS!
I love that retro Halloween paper!! My house has been decorated since the middle of September. LOL I usually carve at least one pumpkin to keep ghosts out of the house!
We carve a pumpkin every year with our little grandboy, but not till the last weekend closest to Halloween. He loves scooping out the “guts” I decorate the outside covered porch with purple lights, skeletons, and hopefully this year a banner or two. It’s just enough spooky without scary our small trick-or-treaters!
Love the new color and I am a Halloween lover. I have made many of your artists items including Laura’s haunted carnival. I am working on the haunted village now, hope to get it finished.
I use my dried gourds instead of carving pumpkins, try to add a few new elements each year, I can see many possibilities with this!
Love the retro houses. No carving here. I put things in the windows to show I’m giving out things for the trick or treaters.
I love decorating for Halloween. I work around a collection of Joe Spencer soft pumpkin-head dolls and crows. Every year I add at least one new ‘doll’ and one hand made project. We get a pumpkin but don’t carve it. We do have faux jack-o-lanterns though.
Deoorating for Halloween….done, all the Pumpkins are out……special one for our grandson to carve !!!!
LOVE this time of the year !!!!!!
Carving pumpkins for the great grandsons. They are excited to help.
We always carve pumpkins whether the kids are here or not. Eventing the weather is beautiful now in the U.P. of Michigan we never know when snows coming so most of the decorating will be concerto.the inside to be seen on the outside. Mummies, skeletons and vamps have taken over house.
Love Kristin and Bella’s creations! I will definitely be carving a pumpkin for Halloween and I’ve pulled out more of my Halloween decorations today and ghosts, witches, black cats and pumpkins are popping up all over!
I am carving pumpkins with my grandson. It’s all about witches and skeletons this year.
Love that Carta Bella Trick or Treat paper! Great idea for the little houses, thanks for sharing.
I could not find any organic pumpkins last year so I bought two cute artificial pumpkins, and I will use these again instead of carving any real pumpkins. I also have the makings for the Haunted Manson so will make that. I don’t get any trick or treating so I have stopped decorating outside.
No carving, we like to keep them till Thanksgiving. I Love the vintage feel of the paper.
Pumpkins, I’m waiting and watching with my friend Linus for the arrival of the “Great Pumpkin”. Maybe it will appear this year as I have moved to Missouri. Oh well, if not, my carved one will have to work…
I love everything orange! It’s my favorite color and Halloween is my favorite holiday ( and it just so happens to be my birth month- October 12th!). And just finished decorating my house and will be carving pumpkins like I do every year!!👻💀👹🌛🎃
We carve pumpkins every year! And this year I’m decorating with my version of the Halloween village! It’s coming together nicely thanks to all the wonderful Alpha Stamps products.
I don’t decorate much anymore but love to go see my grandsons and help them make decorations.
I always carve pumpkins, at least 3, plus many plug-in jackolanterns in all the windows — lots of pumpkins!
Fall is the best time for us, My husband is a kid all the way until xmas ! We have pumpkins and scarecrows all over outside with cornstalks ! nhe is still a kid at heart, the more pumpkins the better ! Gotta love him !!
I’m not going to carve pumpkins this year, but I have decorated my house for Halloween in the old 1920’s-30’s style with lots of character and witches and black cats.
I decorated my house with many Halloween images and in the dining room, on the buffet, I have used some dept 56 articles some that light up and others that are just interesting, with houses that light up and small orange lights for decorating parts of the village.
Oh yes pumpkins get carved !!
we don’t have a whole lot of trick and treaters in our area.
Would love to win Halloween is my favorite
Definitely carving it up! I would like to get a full size skeleton and have it sit on my porch steps amongst the carved pumpkins! EEK!
None at all, even though I have some vintage decorations the house doesn’t get decorated. No Trick or Treaters come by. But… the library gets all dolled up for Day of the Dead.
just updated my pumpkin display with new purple LED lights. we use funkins, no carved pumpkins.
We live in a remote area and no little people come to visit so I decorate my office where we entertain children and they come by on a set day and trick or treat at the office.
I love to decorate for Halloween, so I have lots of pumpkins. I use both real pumpkins and the carvable ones in my decorating.
don’t get many kids at the door anymore, but I still buy candy, decorate, open my door, turn the light on and wait…..oh the joy
Usually I paint white pumpkins
Yes, we are carving pumpkins this year. As a matter of fact shhhhhh, he’s still growing in the garden. He doesn’t realize he will be picked soon! I can’t wait to decorate the front porch.
Sure thing I will carve two pumpkins this year. 🙂 And I am sure to put up my little Halloween tree.
Happy creating and haunting,
Birgit
Carving a pumpkin for my witch and one for my scarecrow!!!
I love to decorate for Halloween for it is the start to My Holidays. In fact this year I am making a Halloween Clock. It will stand 4 feet high and a working clock. I just love all your Halloween projects here. i get Ideas from them.
Not doing any pumpkin carving or decorating even though I love Halloween. I do have a few Halloween figures that I will probably put out on my desk or filing cabinet at work.
Love the vintage inspired papers and those delightful houses. All they need is a little “sugar” for sparkle and for me they’d be perfection. No carving of pumpkins, but tiny witches hats galore. For me, little is always better!!!
We are definitely carving pumpkins. Everyone carves one, except for my husband…he’s not into Halloween – poor guy. We already decorated inside and out with lots of skeletons, witches and candles.
My e-mail was wrong on the last post- teehee!
We LOVE to decorate for Halloween but usually don’t care pumpkins but use other decorations for our house. Orange is one of my most favorite colors!!!
I decorate my mantle with cards I’ve received. Would like to make a pennant this year too.
Love the Halloween pumpkins and orange.
No pumpkins to carve this year. We’re in an apartment, and no one sees our front door except 1 neighbor, and since we face the woods, no one sees our patio either. BUT, planning to carve several when we are in our own home next year!
I will be saving my pumpkins for the harvest season decorations around my house for as long as they will survive. I have a new halloween decoration for this year – the sugar skulls that my daughter and I decorated (it was a blast).
Another amazing giveaway! Yes, I am carving pumpkins with kids and grandkids. I am decorated to the max outside and inside at my home! Love, love, love Halloween, and go all out, even though I live on a farm and only get 2 trick or treaters!
Some decor, not much….remote location so no trickortreaters. But we still loves us some Halloween
I love decorating for Halloween. I have witches I have made and others have made for me, orange lights, gourds, and all sorts of wonderful spooking items. But, I don’t carve pumpkins.
Yes I am carving pumpkins! I have to. I decorate with little haunted scenes – some houses, some witches, some little surprises here and there. I love the banner – that may be something I do this year!
Yes I am carving pumpkins – I have to or it wouldn’t feel like Halloween. I love to decorate and each corner of the house has something – a little haunted house or witch. I love the banner and may try that this year.
I don’t carve pumpkins because it gives be a rash, but believe me, my house is decorated all year long. Halloween is a way of life here.
Since my living room walls are already orange, and I have a cabinet that is always filled with interesting and creepy things, including Halloween things, I have very little decorating to do! I don’t carve pumpkins, but I do set out loads of pumpkins. This year I have to be careful because Charlie, by puppy, likes to chew on things. So the added decorations won’t be able to go in their regular places!
No pumpkin carving but lots of pumpkin decorating. We paint and embellish our pumpkins.
I make miniatures so I decorate them holiday appropriately. This means I am able to decorate more cause they are small. Lol
