Haunted Sunken Ship Shadowbox In A Suitcase!

One of the many things that we’re crazy for here at Alpha Stamps is miniatures, and once again Teri Calia doesn’t disappoint with one of her miniature creations! Hold your breath for A Haunted Sunken Ship Shadowbox In A Suitcase! (With a name that long, I’m just going to refer to it as the Haunted Suitcase from here on out.)
It looks like a miniature suitcase with Brass Buckles and Art Deco Luggage Labels, and all of the other things you’d expect a suitcase to have. However, when you open it up there the similarities end…
Inside awaits a tiny haunted world from a past era, when sailing via ocean liner was all the rage. Unfortunately, for our occupants this ship is resting somewhere on the bottom of the ocean.
There is a lot of luggage in this stateroom; including a nifty Steamer Trunk (created from the Steamer Trunk Mini Kit) stuffed full of travel things (such as the tiny passports and tags).
Note: The old steamer trunk kit was replaced with the Chipboard Steamer Trunk – 4 Inch. The passport and tiny luggage tags Teri used in her artwork (and lining for the revised trunk) have moved to the 4 Inch Steamer Trunk – Damask Collage Sheet.
Isn’t this just the cutest and creepiest thing ever? Teri’s Haunted Suitcase is made from 2 Configurations Boxes – 6.75 x 8.75 that she has hinged together. When you open it up…look at what is left of the passenger, now nothing more than a Skeleton, he didn’t even get time to eat his delicious English Breakfast or enjoy a Cup of Coffee. Such a shame!
I love the miniature suitcases that are haphazardly stacked and the newspaper laying here and there, on and above the steamer trunk. There is his Top Hat, although I’m sure he couldn’t see a thing if he were to try to look at himself in that Gold Mirror Frame.
So that you can create your own Haunted Suitcase, Teri created the amazing Haunted Ship Travel Collage Sheet that has THREE miniature suitcases and all sorts of miniature travel related items on it.
Sail on over to see the A Haunted Sunken Ship Shadowbox In A Suitcase Supply List then sink or swim on over to visit Teri. She has more photos and a tutorial on how to put the suitcases together on her blog!
Wow, not that I would do it exactly the same, but I love the Haunted Ship idea… HMMMMM..
I would love to make the skeletal man setting at the table And, add a few hat boxes! Adorable!
Wow! Lucky Denise!
This is soo cool!!
I think I would make an assortment of cakes that even Marie would approve of!
i love the trunk miniatures-bon voyage! though with a haunted ship perhaps it’s better to say “bon chance!”
This is truly a site to behold. Never would I have thought about creating something as awesome as this. Super imaginative and original, Great Job!!!
I’d make a remembrance trunk filled with things and images my Father and his family brought from Norway when they came here over 100 years ago on the boat!
I wanna make one!
I love all the tiny suitcases and the hat box, and the snoozing skeleton! Very fun creation! I could use them to create a fun memory of a trip.
I would make all the travelling goodies for the Family Reunion including the Wedding Cake 🙂
So fun, thanks so much for a chance to win a play 🙂

Love this! Anything haunted reminds me Halloween is not that far behind, LOL! I am thinking of a haunted boudoir for my items!
this is so wonderful…I would make one that displays things from our family history
I would make a magicians trunk filled with all the tricks of the trade. The hatbox would hold the top hat out of which would appear a little white rabbit.
The cake would be fashioned after my daughter’s 5th birthday party cake which had Marcus the Magician and his rabbit Abracadabra. I made the cake which was a white coconut bunny popping out of a chocolate top hat.
Well, I’ll enter … obviously I have the worst luck … but hopefully …
You could make one for each holiday… Halloween.. Christmas.. So cute.
Love the vintage trunks, and suitcases. Such inspriation.
This is amazing! I think I would make something similar but more girly and pink.Maybe with tons of tiny shoes or maybe something for a fairy!! The possibilities are endless!
Skelly is wearing glasses!!! This is awesome! I just can’t stop looking. I don’t know what I would make with the wooden shapes. Maybe a beautiful birdhouse condo. I can’t think straight because skelly is wearing glasses!
Love the suitcases! My son and “daughter” are big scuba divers, so when you open the big trunk maybe something under the sea. Please pick me and thanks for the opportunity!
I love to garden, so I would create a garden path with lots of plants and a small bench. A nice big sun shining down from the top would have to light up the garden.
Oh wow! Amazing piece!! I would love to do a steampunk style shadow box using these – lots of cogs, and brass piping 🙂
There has not been any one of these giveaways that I wouldn’t love to have as my own! Each one is awesome in their own rite!
Kudos
I enjoy making various scenes for my 4″ doll and then photographing them. I think she would enjoy posting in a Titanic backdrop.
I think I would go Regency … and it’s a young lady having her grand tour instead of her older brother … and maybe she’s looking out the window at Venice …. and her suitcases etc show she has quite fallen in love with the place. Maybe she’s planning to stay …. (Ok, now I really need to win!)
Wow! I love these! I think I’m going to have to put in yet another order! Thanks for today’s inspiration…sure would love to win some too! 🙂
I really love this collection, the hat boxes are perfect for magic powdwer and the suitcase would be used to carry my little bottles of magic potions!
WOW! Impressive.

Another great giveaway!
I love this giveaway. The mini newspaper is very cool!
I would make suitcases that spill vintage contents.
Since we have wedding plans developing in our family, I think a tribute to a vintage wedding and trip abroad, safari style…
Who wouldn’t want to win this steamer trunks?
Teri’s ideas for haunted steamer trunk are unbelievable.
Thanks, Alpha Stamps for the chance to win.
This is one of the best, Love the skeleton in the trunk.
I think I would tag my luggage with a destination – voyage of a upcoming trip and place them next to a photo.
Love Love this give away! I would make a trunk filled with remembrances of my travels.
I love miniatures. I am in awe of them. I love tiny detailed work. As I get older my hands have tremors and it makes it all the more challenging to create miniatures, but when it is complete I have a treasure.
What a treasure to behold!
I love these little treasures! I’d love to do a shadow box for my dream vacation! I actually have gone already but I think it would be a great way to remember the trip!
Wow, this set blew my mind! Absolutely love it, so creative!
What a great giveaway!!!
I would use the inspiration from this, and use the hat boxes and suitcases to make Rose’s stateroom on the Titanic
What fun!!! Would make a Titanic trunk!!!!
I love this suitcase!!! I am constantly amazed at the creativity that comes though here. Simply awesome!
This is great! I finally get to take a vacation. I might not be able to wait and see if I win – I need this NOW!
Great give-away. I think I would create a Victorian lady’s Bon Voyage scene with the blocks and hat boxes. You have several other collage sheets with ladies on them that I could use. OR, I’d make a setting with a mermaid taking treasures out of sunken luggage and hat boxes.
Awesome stuff. I just signed up for the monthly sub box because I found this so fun.
I’ll be ready for a cruise on a Ship of Fools? Great giveaway – hope to get to play with this collection!
I love the Haunted Suitcase. I think I’d make a Victorian era train station with the giveaway. Lots of paper and luggage in those. And I bet my son would love to help me with it.
This is fabulous! I would definately have to do something with travel, as spring just brings out the wanderlust. Thanks for the inspiration!
Sooo cool! Thanks for the chance to win!!
Just reading the choices of what I could make with the little wooden blocks, I see a door with the rectangle piece. But when it opens up you see a small glen with little round tree stumps for bunnies and fairy folk to have tea parties on. Hope I never grow up and hope I win. 🙂
Simply wonderful Giveaway.
Love this! I’d go with a haunted theme as well!
Oh – I so need this! It would be perfect for the cottage! So cute!!
Oh, I love this giveaway! I would make a miniature millinery shop or bakery. Thank you for the opportunity to win. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
This is a gorgeous project. I would do a fairy
Closet.
My list of things to do with this kit is so mind blowing, one thing for sure is it wouldn’t be sitting long on my table.
Cute, cute, cute! I want to make a shadow box room vignette with some mini dolls. Love it all!
My favorite yet! I would try to do a shipboard scene. Thanks for a chance to win.
Yay, skeletons in April!
Spookalisciousness! LOVE this Haunted Steamer Trunk! SO amazing! With my love of boxes this would be perfect to make for my display wall! LOVELOVELOVE it!! So much creativity flowing here!
What a fantastic project. Love all your miniatures, as I specialize in creating doll houses.
I’d definitely make hat boxes instead of cakes. Perhaps it would be a shadow box with a burlesque dressing room. I love your give aways and ideas!
Living in Arizona I’m thinking about doing an old west saloon with Day of the Dead features. I’m off to dig thru my miniature findings! Thx for the inspiration!
Loving all the minis!!
Love this giveaway! I’d make a steampunk traveler”s trunk.
Great giveaway. I think I would make something for my fairy garden, perhaps tea party cakes.
Like the trunk, expcept for the “mouse”!!!!
There are so many possibilities with this, I think I’d want to make this one, and a wild west themed one with some of my pictures from Tombstone. A National Parks theme would also work well with this kit and my photos.
I love this! I think I would do a Halloween theme for this. Creepy old photos hanging, webs, apothecary jars, etc.
Love this! The kit reminds me of my Dad’s steamer trunk which I still have. I think I’d make a mini tribute to him and his travels.
Awesome kit! I’m tempted to make tiny suitcases to leave in random restaurant coat closets, just to freak out the establishment and make them think they’ve been visted by sophisticated mice!
Wow, this is SO cool! I would create a spooky Hallowe’en scene for my annual Hallowe’en party … I can see it now!
I’m ready to travel
What a tempting idea; a great story could be attached to this collage sheet. So fun!
Something steampunk, I’m thinking – maybe some weird Magician’s trunk, with a half-sawn lady in it…..
So many ideas! I would get lots of the sets and make a mini bakery scene!
Wow! Great concept for a new project.
I just love this giveaway. I’d make a wedding cake out of the wooden round boxes. Would make great favors!
I would makes cakes for sure!
Wow is right. We are going on a cruise later this year. I would incorporate items from our trip. I would use Teri’s idea of two configuration boxes to decorate as a suitcase as she did. I am partial to the skeleton but hope we don’t end up as he did.
I think that I would make something out of them for a succulent garden.
What a great idea! It reminds me of a dollhouse roombox!
Hmmmm, think I might make a magicians traveling trunk. Just love all the mini stuff.
lovely!
How great is this! Love the the luggage!!
Wow!
This is absolutely brilliant! So happy to see I’m not the only one thinking about skeletons in April. But the my first thought would be to make a memory box. My father immigrated here in 1909 and I recently found a picture of the ship he sailed on. It would be a treasure for my children who never got to meet him.
Would love to make a haunted memory box with this kit!
I love it!
Great shadowbox! I’d make some kind of traveling scene. Maybe they belong to immigrants and are sitting at a wharf waiting on the boat to take them to a new land.
I love all the boxes & suitcases so I am going to make all the suitcases I can and put together my own shadowbox. I have to go out it all in my cart now-LOVE IT!! > ^ .. ^ <
I have a wooden suitcase that would make the perfect backdrop for the project that she used. Instead of a haunted box though, I would use the Little Roccco collage sheet and other suitcase collage sheet and make it a Victorian lads traveling in a steamer ship and that would be her room including a bed as well.
just dreamy!
love it
These boxes are cool. Im not sure yet what I would make.Hummmmm
I love the suitcases. Very cool idea.
This was really great. What a clever idea to use wood inside the suitcases. Ive made several in the past and have been so disappointed when they didn’t “sit” right. The wood sure would solve that problem! Must have!
OMG this is so fabulous! I would love to do one with the theme, “A Night at the Opera.” The little gloves and cummerbund are so wonderful! are they made of suede with the details drawn on with copics?
This is just great! Hope to win it and create something so fabulous.
I would go to Teri’s blog and follow her instructions on how to make this amazing suitcase. I LOVE it!
Daughter graduating in May with two Masters,. I would make this idea for her, she loves to travel…please
Wow, Teri’s creation is amazing! I’d love to win your great giveaway and make a vintage journey shadow box, perhaps something referencing ‘The Grand Tour’ so popular in Victorian times. Thanks for the opportunity!
How adorable is this project! Just love it!
Hope I win this giveaway!
I would definitely make a set of retro styled suitcases, with hat boxes to match, and I’d also like to fashion a tiny birthday cake to put in a handmade, paper box as a gift for a friend
