TODAY is the final day of the Sale on ALL Buttons, Vintage Sewing & Cooking Collage Sheets AND Household Charms — all On Sale through Sunday night, February 15th!
See last Thursday’s Newsletter for new mushrooms that inspired the Garden Fairy Home FREE Gift Kit (still available). And artwork by Rhonda Secrist Thomas AND a big bunch of new Tim Holtz products… More info
I’ve been in a sewing mode lately. Something about the cold weather and sewing seems to go hand-in-hand for me and then I saw Design Team Member Caroline Ouzts-Hay’s Cute As A Button Kit project. It’s sew perfect! (Pun quite intended!)
Caroline’s adorable Mini Victorian Kittens Needle Book measures just 3-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches. She says:
“The Victorian Kittens Collage Sheet images did not come on fabric so I tea stained some white cotton, ironed it onto some freezer paper and then ran it through my printer (only praying a little bit!) If that’s not for you, Alpha Stamps carries some ready made, Fabric Printer Sheets. I really love the vintage look that I achieved!
Inside I created a pocket to hold scissors etc. and stamped it with the sewing machine from the (New and On Sale!) Sewing Notions Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set (images from this set are also stamped on the front and back covers).
The (New and On Sale!) Colorful Leaf Stick Pins are a quick way to add color (and peeking out from behind that felt page is one of the Painted Cat Head Buttons).
Look at that little (Back in Stock) Antique Silver Birdcage Charm that is sewn onto the ‘page’ with the Printed Burlap. Even more sweet images from the Sewing with Kitty Collage Sheet, (and my favorite) tiny 6mm Heart Buttons — the entire book is just ridiculously over-the-top cute. Sorry, can’t think of another word for it!
Here’s Caroline’s supply list, and you can mosey on over to Caroline’s blog to see more pictures and a few more details at her blog.

I love kittens in any way I can get them These are adorable. I have used sticky back canvas in my printer several times. I love the results-I’ve even printed photos. It gives them a very aged look. I’ve also used stamps on it and plain canvas for backgrounds. Again really like the effect.

I have done lots of stamping on fabric, cotton shorts, tshirts and aprons. Would love to win this collection as I love cats and vintage!
This giveaway is just to die for! No, I haven’t yet printed on fabric from my printer. I’ve done needlepoint for years but I paint and freehand my canvases myself. I thought I’d need to wait until I could invest in a wide format fabric printer as I’ve been fearful to attempt running fabric through our rather costly photographic printer (would hate to mess up my husband’s wage earning work)! But with the Fabric Sheets – I’m ready to try!
I have stamped on fabric. I am going to try the “freezer paper transfer method”that Caroline used…love the look! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for another fabulous giveaway!
Love the kittens! I have stamped on fabric and done tshirts as well. But never printed on fabric. I will be trying the technique described here. Such a cute kit.

I have stamped on fabric and transferred photocopies onto iron tape (?) then ironed that onto fabric. Thus, ending with a photo on the fabric—hopefully. Very difficult. I am looking forward to printing on fabric. I love the idea of the possibilities it provides.

Kitties, needle book (sewing) and printing/rubber stamping…. What a perfect combo for me…all in my wheel house!!!
I have done printing in fabric with pretreated fabric sheets, rubber stamped on many different types of fabric that have ended up in collaged art and wearable projects! My my kitty muse Millie is always by my side to supervise!
I Have got to have this one..please pretty please
Love the pins with leaves on the heads!
Love Caroline’s Victorian Kitten Needle Book, very sweet; and yes, I have printed and stamped on fabric. I made a Marie Antoinette fabric and lace book and filled it with many printed fabric pictures of Marie, from age 13 to her death, and it came out gorgeous. I also sew and embroider many lavender/rose petal sachets, using many stamped French Ads and Ephemerama!
Love it, my creative gears are telling me to clean off the table and set up the sewing machine. Thanks for the inspiration
Caroline’s needle book is adorable and a great giveaway, thank you!
