4 Bee-Themed Projects by Laura Carson (And a Bee-Themed Giveaway!)

Oh that Laura Carson. Churning projects suitable for gift-giving out faster than our much-needed bees are disappearing. Laura used the creatures as inspiration for four projects and 2 new collage sheets! (Psst: both of Laura’s new collage sheets are On Sale!, but only through this Sunday night, August 3rd.)
The projects include TWO different Domino Books, an Accordion Folded Book in a Box and a set of Coasters. Of course there are tutorials for each project — you will love how easy they are and how helpful Laura’s collage sheets are in making each project.
The Bees Collage Sheet has a colorful bee theme, with medallions and faux postage filling this sheet. The medallions make great labels for bottles, jar lids and on coasters. The faux postage can be used as ephemera on your artwork, journaling, tags or to jazz up envelopes.
Birds and Bees Collage Sheet — wow there is a ton of possibilities with this one and it was used to make the Domino Books and the Accordion Fold Out Book in a Box. This sheet is loaded with bird- and bee-themed art. Included are 12 small panels are sized to fit on a 1″ x 2″ domino and a long panel that can be accordion folded to fit inside two 1″ x 2″ dominoes like a book. There are also ATC sized collage images and extra birds and flowers. I think the smaller images would also make for some cute little tag work, don’t you?
I love the Domino Books! One has pages that fold out accordion style, and the other one is hinged and opens up like a book. Speaking of adorable, take a look at the Masonite Bee Cut-Outs that Laura put on one of the 3 Inch White Cube Boxes (that houses the fold out accordion book shown at left). You’ll be following Laura’s easy steps to create painted bees and attaching them to just about everything, including these cute little boxes. I just know it!
The Heirloom 6×6 Paper Pad goes along great with Laura’s collage sheets so be sure to grab one before they’re gone. You can find more fabulous pictures and the step-by-step tutorial for each project on Laura’s blog.
