Summer Garden & “Garden Variety” Postcard Swap

I’ve gathered lots of beautiful, colorful flowers for Lenna Andrew’s “Garden Variety” Postcard Swap (see link at right for more info). Most of the new items are on a new Summer Garden Theme Page (more on that in a minute). But first, here are a couple related items that aren’t floral:

A faux-cancellation collage. Available wood-mounted only.

Roses Postcard Header Rubber Stamp
From a vintage postcard. Available unmounted only, but you can buy cling foam to mounted this stamp yourself.

And a whole gallery of sample art by the Design Team (to get you started with ideas for the swap). I’ll mention the main categories on the new theme page, and highlight a few of my favorites:

10 New Collage Sheets
You really must go look.. so many pretty (and some funny) things. The Sunflowers sample art at near left is by our Swap Hostess and Guest Designer Lenna Andrews, also using mulberry paper flowers from the Mini Essentials Strawberry and Mini Essentials Pastiche sets, and an Amber Matte Glass Flower Bead Cap (you can see the entire ATC from the Sunflowers listing.

7 New Scrapbook Papers (plus one 8×8 stack)
A few are single sheets from the Botanicabella set, some are new, all are beautiful florals. Oh, and that 8×8 Stack is shown in the photo at near right (only a snippet… it has 24 different pages – 2 each of 24 designs – half with glossy glitter or foil accents).

8 New Charms (or Findings or Beads)
What can I say… I’m a sucker for sunflowers. The photo at left is a Sunflower 2-Ring Connector, with a loop at either side. 35mm x 30mm. Dapped (slightly 3D and concave on the back). Antique gold-plated brass or vintage patinaed brass.

8 New Sets of Paper Flowers
5 sets are relatively flat mulberry flowers in recloseable plastic tubes (that can stand up on your desk or a shelf). I thought flat-ish flowers would be good for adhering to postcards (pretending they’d actually be mailed). But they can be bent and folded, stitched, glued… made into more 3D flowers, too. The sample at far right is by Design Team Member Frieda Oxenham, using some of these Mulberry Paper Flowers and also one of the new pressed-glass Czech Beads.

New Lucite Flowers/Leaves Page
The lucite things achieved critical mass. (There’s a section for them on the ‘Summer Garden’ page, too.) There are 6 new lucite flowers or sets on the page, but I’ll just highlight the roses that Guest Designer Lenna Andrews used (in the snippet from her artwork at right): 23mm Matte Lucite Roses. (Beautiful, 3D lucite roses. Slightly translucent (especially on the thinner areas). Flat back cabochons, suitable for gluing onto flat-back bails or directly onto artwork.)

6 New Dresden or Paper Scraps
Three new styles of metallic Dresden borders (2 in multiple colors… like those Mini Floral Borders shown at left) and 3 sheets of full-color roses (paper scraps).

6 New Rubber Stamps
So many options… I had a hard time picking which ones to show here. There are 2 border/frame stamps (including a beautiful, large Dandelion Frame on cling foam; a snippet at near left), 3 florals (including 2 sunflower stamps), and the sweet Let’s Garden wood-mounted stamp shown in the photo at far left.

Three Sets of Postcards in Tins: Flora & Fauna, Farmer’s Market and Garden Variety
Each set is of 18 postcards. Eighteen 4″ x 6″ postcards featuring 9 different vintage illustrations; 2 of each design. Printed on high quality classic cream paper stock. Each printed with “CARTE POSTALE” on the back (they are mailable postcards). They come in 6-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ reusable metal tins (with hinged lids).

 
Miscellaneous

Hello Girlfriend Rubber Stamp
Cute! Available wood-mounted only. Approx. 3″ wide.

Two Sets of Resin Appliques: Scrolls and Corners
Cast resin with beautiful detailing. The largest is 1-5/8″ wide (and about 1/8″ thick). They have a whitewashed look, but are also easy to paint other colors. Each design is a set of 4.

Variety and Quality Cling Stamp
This stamp has lots of fun, kitschy ads for coffee, a beauty shop and a trio of ladies in hats. Approx. 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″.

Wings Rub-ons – Metallic Gold
8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of metallic rub-ons with lots of wings (from angels to butterflies) plus a couple small crowns.

Mini Garment Pins
Adorably tiny version of old-fashioned safety pins. Antique brass color. Package contains 50 pieces, approximately 7/8″ long and 3/8″ at widest point.

Hinged Teapot Charm in Antique Gold
Antiqued gold-plated cast pewter (like the antiqued pewter ones we’ve had before).

Metal Flourish (Wrought Iron) Cling Stamp
A nice trend in cling-mounted rubber stamps: the image is printed on the back side of the grey cling foam (so you can see the image through the clear mount – when you’ve got the stamp mounted on a clear acrylic block).

Approx. 3-3/4″ x 5-3/8″ (big!)

Flourish Grid Clear Stamp Set
Two separate stamps with a wrought-iron gate look. Approx. 3-1/2″ x 5-5/8″ (height of both stamps).

4-3/4″ x 6″ Acrylic Mount
Perfect for really large stamps… like that Metal Flourish (Wrought Iron) Cling Stamp. The block has gently rounded edges for stamping comfort and is crystal clear for precision stamping.

Tulip Slides & ATCs Collage Sheet
What? Another floral collage sheet? Well, yes, but since the tulips have long since finished their blooming for this year, I couldn’t put them on the Summer Garden page.

Tulips (and a few other bulbs) sized for slides, ATCs, inchies (1x1s) and 2x2s. A couple images include faint text in the background: “While Tulips lift the banner red, or fill the cups with fire instead. Sweet Hyacinths their bells did ring, to swell the music of the Spring.” Sample art by Design Team Member Sarah Whitmire.

Faceted Jewel Charms in 3 Colors
Acrylic jewels in settings that look like antique brass (not too heavy for their size: 7/8″ diameter). 4 per package (2 with 2 loops & 2 with 1 loop). Choice of Amber, Red or Black.

The Dog Did It Rubber Stamp
What a mischievous little face! 2″ x 2″. Licensed from the fabulous Teri Calia.

Gold & Copper Leafing Foils
The foil leaves are micro-thin sheets of composition metal, packaged and separated by pages of tissue paper. The copper or gold leaf comes 25 sheets per package (5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″).

Sun/Moon Clear Stamp Set
A modern twist on a late gothic archway makes a great frame or the basis for an ornament or pendant. Also includes a medieval woodcut sun, 2 moons (facing left and right) and a tiny archway. Entire sheet is approx. 4″ x 3″.
