Materials
– Small Diorama Box
– Portrait Small Theatre Francais Collage Sheet
– Dance Costumes Collage Sheet
– Cardstock in pink and cream.
– Crepe paper in cream and grey.
– Dresden trims of choice or gold metallic doilies.
– Ribbons, tinsel, beads, pearls, mini musical instruments, and findings of your choice.
– Glitter floral leaves.
– White floral wire.
– Ruby Red Glass Glitter, Stickles, and Radiant Pearls in gold.
– Scissors
– Paper piercing skewer
– Hot glue, hot glue sticks, tacky glue and a glue stick.
Directions
- Glue pink cardstock into the inside of your diorama box, with a glue stick. Next, glue curtain image from Portrait Small Theater Francais collage sheet to cream cardstock with a glue stick. Cut out and hot glue the curtains to the top of the pink background.
- Now cut the small theatre image from Portrait Small Theater Francais collage sheet and, glue onto cream cardstock. Cut out the small theatre image and hot glue it to the glass cover of the shadow box.
- Next glue the two lady images from the Dance Costumes Collage Sheet, onto cream cardstock. Cut out the ladies and glue glitter floral leaves to the back of each lady with your hot glue gun. Now cut a thin strip of grey crepe paper about 8 inches long, fold the crepe paper “paper fan style” and hot glue to the edge of the lady’s skirt. Embellish this lady with a tiny instrument, a handmade paper crown and other trim of your choice.
- Cut a 6inch piece of white floral wire and hot glue to the back of the embellished lady, set her aside. Place the glass cover onto the box base and pierce a hole in the center of the top of the box, making sure you go through both box parts with paper piercing skewer.
- Finish decorating the inside of the box with more glitter, embellishments and Radiant Pearls, or other shimmering mist products, for a gold-leaf effect.
- Now thread the embellished lady and her wire through the two boxes working with her inside the box. Using tacky glue, add a bead to the wire that extends through the box top. Curl the top of the wire, leaving 1/2inch room, now you can move your lady up and down like a marionette!
- Finish decorating the top lid of your box with tinsel, glass glitter, stickles, crepe paper and your second lady.
Fun Tip
You can make an extra moveable marionette by cutting out the arms and legs of the paper doll and reattaching them with tiny brads or curled wire, before you attach the lady to the wire.
