I am an ‘out-of-the-box’ papercrafter and scrapbooker! And, what really makes me different is the fact that I am an artist first, last, and always. So, most of the time I look at materials, tools, and techniques throughÊan artisticÊ’lens.’ Plus, my experiences as a high school art teacher, mother of an incrediblyÊenergetic right-brained five-year-old, and wife of a performance poet and writer keep me on my creative toes! Thus, I find that I am always evolving new ways to approach and teach visual art processes, so the product is true to the artist, including myself. I am a questioner and evaluator as a result of this evolution, and that, more than anything, has made me a better artist, teacher, and parent.

Furthermore, having been a creative soulÊas far back as I can remember, I cannot recall a time when I was not open to creative experimentation orÊfearless at trying out new art supplies, techniques, tools, and classes! I like variety, versatility, and originality. Also, since I teach mixed media, paper & fiber arts, and advanced students, I am trying new stuff continuously, and LOVING IT!! (Drawing, painting, collage, assemblage, stamping, stenciling, stitching, scrapping, transfer techniques, design, typography, distressing/aging, etc… It’s all fair game, and ‘purposeful play’!)
