Venetian Carnival & A New Swap

In honor of the Carnival season quickly approaching (Fat Tuesday is February 16), I've pulled together an entire page of goodies spanning the centuries from 17th c Venice to about 1920 Paris (or New Orleans... my vintage mags from that era are definitely in French).

 
Mini Carnival/Masquerade Mask Swap!

Here's a bit of the info from the Swap Specs (that's a link to the Yahoo Group, where you can also sign up for the swap):

Make 3 original Mini Masquerade Masks and receive 3 in return, all by different artists! We're providing a template of mask options: there are 4 designs/mask shapes on the template. You can make all 3 of your masks a different shape or you can repeat the same shape for all 3. Sign up by February 7th; artwork will be due March 6th.

 
Carnival/Masquerade Masks Gallery

A beautiful Gallery of samples to whet your appetite, by our Design Team and Guest Designer Izabella Pierce (who created the lovely mask with pink chandeliers in the large photo, above right).
